ICYMI: CPJ SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN SPOTLIGHTS IRAN’S 5 YEAR MEDIA CRACKDOWN
If you don’t remember the Iranian government’s response to the 2009 Green Movement, an effort in which millions demanded greater transparency from their country’s electoral process, the Committee to Protect of Journalists (CPJ) can help. In commemoration of the protest’s five-year anniversary and to spotlight Iran’s status as one of the world’s top three worst jailers of the press, CPJ is “live tweeting” the major events that occurred from June 12 through July 7, 2009. You can follow the campaign on Twitter at @cpjmena and read more about it here.
