AMERICAN DEMOCRACY ACTIVIST RELEASED IN VIETNAM
The Washington Post reports that the Vietnamese government released and deported Nguyen Quoc Quan, an American democracy activist detained since last April. Nguyen is a member of the non-violent, democracy group called Viet Tan, which the Vietnamese government has labeled a terrorist organization. Nguyen was previously held on charges related to his democratic work in Vietnam in 2007.
